1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information so we can provide and personalize the Laksh experience. Each item below is linked to your account, is used only to operate and personalize the service, and is never used for third-party advertising tracking and is never sold.

Email address — for account creation, login, verification, and important service communications.
Username / user identifier — a public nickname (pseudonym) you choose; it is not required to be your real name and is the only identifier shown to other users.
Profile & style data — gender, clothing sizes, shoe size, and style preferences, used to generate outfit recommendations tailored to you.
Relationship status — used to personalize your experience and to hide certain social/dating features from users who prefer not to see them; it is stored on our servers and is never shared with third parties.
Wardrobe content — photos and details of the clothing items you scan, used to build your digital wardrobe and identify garments for styling.
Approximate location — only if you grant location permission, used to fetch local weather for weather-appropriate outfit suggestions. You can also enter a city manually, in which case no device location is collected.
Usage data & diagnostics — in-app interactions, device information, analytics, and crash logs, used to operate, secure, and improve the app.
Purchase data — your subscription status. Payments are processed by Apple; we do not receive or store your card details.

2. How We Use Your Information & Legal Basis

Your data powers AI outfit recommendations, wardrobe analysis, and personalized styling. We process your data on the following legal bases: to provide the service you request (contract), with your consent (e.g. AI features, optional data, and marketing emails), and our legitimate interest in improving and securing the app. Photos are processed solely for garment identification. We never use your personal data for third-party advertising tracking, and we never sell your personal data.

3. Third-Party AI Service

To generate personalized outfit recommendations and power the Styler assistant, Laksh uses a third-party artificial intelligence service provided by OpenAI. When you use AI-powered features (outfit generation or the Styler assistant), we send the following data to this service:

The items in your wardrobe (type, color, and category)
Your style gender

We do NOT send your name, email address, username, personal identity, profile photos, or any image of you to the AI service.

This data sharing occurs only after you have given your explicit consent through the in-app consent screen shown before any AI feature is used. If you decline, AI-powered features are disabled and no data is sent to the AI service. You can withdraw your consent at any time in the app settings.

OpenAI processes this data solely to generate outfit recommendations and provides data protection consistent with this policy. For more information, see OpenAI's privacy policy.

We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the service. You can request deletion of your data at any time by deleting your account within the app.

4. Information We Do NOT Collect

To be clear about what Laksh does not do, we do not collect:

Face data or facial recognition — the camera is used only to scan your clothing items; we do not detect, analyze, or store any facial data.
Payment or card information — all purchases are handled securely by Apple's In-App Purchase; we never see or store your card details.
Precise or background location — we only use approximate location, and only when you explicitly grant permission, solely to provide local weather.
Your contacts or your browsing history outside the app.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption (TLS). Wardrobe photos are stored securely and can be deleted at any time. We follow the principles of the GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California).

6. Data Retention

We keep your personal data only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law. If you delete your account, your associated data is removed within 30 days (except where we must retain limited records for legal or accounting obligations).

7. Anonymous Identity

Laksh operates on an anonymous @username system by default. Your real identity is never exposed to other users unless you explicitly choose to share it.

8. Gifting Privacy

Gifting is anonymous between @username identities. Delivery uses Amazon Locker pickup or hand-to-hand exchange — home addresses are never shared or stored.

9. Third-Party Services

We use trusted providers to operate the app: Apple (App Store and in-app purchases on iOS), Amazon (affiliate shopping links — as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases), OpenAI (AI processing — see Section 3), our email provider, hosting and image-processing services, and analytics. These providers process data on our behalf under data-protection agreements.

10. International Data Transfers

Some of our providers (e.g. OpenAI, Apple, Amazon) are located outside the European Union, including the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the EU, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect it.

11. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing, at any time by contacting service@lakshaiapp.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority — in France, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

12. Children's Privacy

Laksh is not intended for children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use Laksh. The app is intended for adults (18+).

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version; significant changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
